Networking Is The Key To Success!

Posted by JasperP on February 16th, 2009

A few days ago, Bryn posted a very important topic on his blog titled: “Networking Is The Most Important Thing In Affiliate Marketing.”  I really believe this is critical to your success and will keep you motivated to keep working on your business.

Some people have asked me if I did consulting and were willing to pay me for it.   I told them “fuck that.. let’s just share tips and experiences!”  I don’t mind helping people out because I can also learn from them as well.

Anyway, just wanted to post my top places to network with other affiliate marketers:

    1. networking_aim.jpg networking_msn.jpgnetworking_gchat.gif  networking_skype.png
Instant Messaging – I use this regularly and it’s easy to just get in contact with someone and discuss different topics of marketing.  Contact me at JasperP81 on AIM.
    2. networking_meetup202.png
Meetup202 - The meetup202 groups created by Wes and Steven of Prosper202 are GREAT for networking with other affiliate marketers.  I’ve met tons of people through my local Los Angeles meetup.  Check out if there are Meetup202 events in your area: meetup202.com.
    3. networking_affiliatesummit.gif
Affiliate Summit - Affiliate Summit West and Affiliate Summit East events are a MUST for affiliate marketers.  You get to connect with other marketers on a more personal level. Plus it’s great fun partying and just chillin’.  Mark your calendars: Affiliate Summit East is on Aug 9-11 @ New York City.  Check it out: affiliatesummit.com.
    4. networking_twitter.gif
Twitter - Twitter is another networking tool that can be used to get in contact with other marketers.  Dubbed as “mini-blogging”, you can reply back and forth with people about topics that they post or “tweet”.  Follow me at twitter.com/JasperP.
    5. networking_rss_icon2.png
Blogs - Subscribing to blogs are another way to get in contact with other marketers.  I personally use Google Reader to consolidate all the blogs that I follow.  I use this to keep an eye on the latest news in the Affiliate Marketing Industry.  Currently, I subscribe to about 100 blogs.  Check out Google Reader. It’s free! Then subscribe to this blog by clicking on my RSS link.
    6. networking_facebook.gifnetworking_linkedin.gif
Social Networking - Facebook and LinkedIn are popular spots to get in touch with other marketers.  I just started to expand my social network so hit me up on Facebook and LinkedIn.

    7. Forums - I used to be a bit more active on forums before, however, nowadays I’m not as active as I could be, but there are quite a few affiliate marketing forums out there such as WickedFire, Prosper202, PPC-Coach, Convert2Media, Cash Tactics, Xtreme Profits, etc.  If I’m on there, my username is usually “JasperP”.
So that should be enough to get you started.  Don’t be shy! I’ve advised people to find a buddy at the same level so that you guys can grow together and share your experiences with each other. Go out there and start meeting people!

202 News: Los Angeles Affiliate Marketing Meetup

Posted by JasperP on December 16th, 2008

This Saturday, we’re having our LAST meetup of the year.  So for those people who are in the Los Angeles area, you need to come out for this event to network with other affiliate marketers.

In the last meetup, we had about 30 people show up and it was fun meeting different types of people in the internet marketing industry.  I made some awesome contacts with people and currently spin ideas off each other to see what works and what doesn’t.

So, if you’re a struggling affiliate or an experienced one, you can benefit from making new contacts and learning from the experiences of others.

    Here’s the details:

What: Los Angeles Affiliate Marketing Meetup
Where: Lost Souls Cafe, Downtown LA
    When: Saturday, Dec 20 @ 1pm
    http://affiliate.meetup.com/49/

Also, I gotta give props to Wes and Steven of Tracking202 for organizing these meetups throughout the world.  These guys really know their affiliate marketing and are a pleasure to meet.  They’re nice guys and are willing to answer questions whenever they are available.

You can check out other meetups at meetup202.com.

Other 202 News is that Tracking202 Pro is in beta! Currently, they are taking applications for a free beta test where the monthly fees are waived EXCEPT for API charges.  If you’re familiar with the Tracking202/Prosper202 family of applications, T202 Pro is going to blow your mind.  There are some features that will be available on T202 Pro that is not available in the free versions.

Project Yahoo: YSM -> CPA Networks

Posted by JasperP on July 22nd, 2008

I just started working on a new project which involves working with Yahoo Search Marketing and CPA Offers.  I’m not going to state what niches I’m working on, but I’m going to share some of my experiences with it to see if I can make a profit from it.

I’m sharing this info with the guys in the ClickConsultants Forum.  So if you want more information on this project, you can follow along with me in more detail in the forum.  I haven’t made a profit with this project yet, so I’ll keep updating this blog and in the forums in the meantime.

    Here are the project guidelines:

    • Pick 2 Offers from the CPA Networks.  The network I’m working with is AzoogleAds and maybe NeverBlueAds.
    • Generate a huge list of keywords: (at least 10k+ keywords)
    • Group keywords with a common keywords 1-3 words long.  For example, if my keywords were “blue dog collars”, “red dog collars”, “black dog collars”.  Then my common keyword is “dog collars”
    • Write at least 2 ads per ad group.  Use the common keyword for each ad group name and try to use it in the text ads.
    • Upload to Yahoo Search Marketing and optimize campaign everyday.
    • Write down impressions, clicks, CTR, # of Leads on daily performance.

    Niche #1 Updates:

    • 15,257 Keywords
    • 36 Ad Groups
    • 14 Ads per Ad Group
    • CPC: 0.15 (now 0.25 after today)
    • Daily Budget: $5.00

Niche #1 just became live today. I uploaded it on Saturday, July 19 and it barely just got approved today.  I guess they don’t approve anything on the weekends.

    More updates soon!

This is my first post and I’m so excited to share my world of Affiliate Marketing with my readers (or lack there of).

My goal for this blog is to basically document my experiences in marketing, entrepreneurship and hopefully the rich life.  I’ve been actively working with affiliate marketing for about 7 months and am starting to see the light!

So sit back, kick your feet up and enjoy the show!
