Actually, i tried running both banners and text ads... The quality of traffic isn't that great over there. Alot of them were technology, and bittorrent related sites.

I was basically direct linking to the CPA Offer.

Thanks for the link.. i'll check it out!

Jasper,

Just curious. What kind of campaign did you try on AdBrite? Was it a banner ? CPA offer? Can you do direct to merchant on AdBrite?

Check this site out if you are interested in using an Ad Server. It's open source! Looks pretty good.

Remnant traffic is basically the extra traffic that they aren't able to sell off in their inventory.

Usually remnant traffic will be cheaper than an ad networks normal rate. Also, some sites will sell their remnant traffic to ad networks.

Jerry Wrote:
>Thanks for the email. Do you know what the minimal cost is for the type of media buys that they do? I'm sure it's a lot and was wondering if you can spend less to start with.

I know that the media buys do cost quite a bit. I'm going to guess that the cheapest is probably in the $1000 range for an insertion order.

I have yet to have my first media buy, so I'm thinking of running another test towards that.

Check out the book "Media Buying Secrets" by Carlos and Lupe. It's probably the only book I've really seen on media buying out there. It's free when you sign up for their newsletter.
