My Experience on “The Price is Right”
Posted by JasperP on August 26th, 2009
I posted this on twitter, but for those that don’t follow me, I just thought I’d share my experience on “The Price is Right”. This video aired about 3 years ago, right before Bob Barker retired. Me and some other friends waited about 8-10 hours from around 6am when they opened to around 4pm when they started filming.
The way it worked was that every single person in the audience gets a 5-20 second interview to get on the show. In order to get on the show, I used my marketing skills to get on the show. Basically, I had to differentiate myself from the other members of the audience.
Here’s the secret: I told them that I worked as one of those robots sprayed in silver paint that worked at the beach. They asked how much I made and I said, “It’s kind of embarassing, but on a good day I make about $40″.
I think they got a kick out of it and maybe felt sorry that I didn’t make that much money and put me on the show!
Anyway, here’s the video:

Have I told you that you’re my most favorite person EVER?
That was hilarious, too bad you didn’t go farther but at least you got a chance to go on!

HAHAHAHAAH I’ve watched it 5 times already. Dude you get so left out to dry when you’re running down those stairs.
What the heck? Dude it was totally Bob Barker’s fault. You would have gotten the prize if he wasn’t stuttering and senile. May he Rest in Peace. Like a bawss!
Awesome!
But like the previous commenter said – you got robbed. Bob was too slow in answering you, and you were only a fraction of a second away from saying the correct price.
But you were a good sport!
HAHA… damn man, nobody gave you love while you were running down the aisle and you would have had those skateboards if Bob wasn’t stuttering!
Good shit and thanks for sharing!
Great video, I’ve heard that if you go in a large enough group (12?) one person of that group is guaranteed to go on (not sure of the validity of this information).
@Roland, Bob Barker isn’t dead just very very old. Are you confusing him with Ed McMahon?
dude, i absolutely love this. hilarious

I was laughing so hard when you were running down, trying to give high 5′s and no one was there to receive it. Too funny. You are a legend Jasper
That’s like my dream man, haha, thanks so much for re-posting this. I just caught you off of affbuzz.com and I’m definitely coming back

That’s so funny. I wish I could’ve gone on the Price Is Right when Bob Barker was still host. I love Drew Carey, but it’s just not the same.
Haha oh man, the stairs incident just turned you in to my hero

Nice job rockin’ the clock game! I agree…you were robbed. But at least you got a lovely day bed
Totally awesome dude! …that bed was fine…right… that’s why bob was flustered lol
You did great! Wish you won the wheel spin.
hi, i enjoyed watching your experience. maybe you can answer this for me.. how do you get into the studio? i have been told there is a flight of steps to go up? how is this if the studio is on ground floor? where are you at after you go up the steps? are you backstage or in the seating area? i know it is a goofy question, i am just curious as to how it is all set up. Does drew and the models enter the same way? any extra sharing you can do on the process and what it all looks like and what you got to see would be great
thanks
Michelle
