Hey Jasper,
This is Gerry65 and I’m also a member of WA…Congratulations on your success. I have a question about your reply to ‘zulkef’ where you said quote-
“I recommend CBS for those looking to get a crash course on PPC marketing with Google and direct linking”.
What is CBS?
I too want get into started in adwords campaign and I’ve just read Beating Adwords. Any other resources that I can get my hands on would be great.
Anyway it sounds like you’re in the Philippines right now…it’s gotta be hot over there. What part are you at? My mom is from Manila.
Cheers
Gerry
CBS is Campaign Blasts Source.. you can find it at http://campaignblasts.com (non-aff)
http://www.campaignblasts.com/?&aff_id=527 (aff)
I like it because the community is small and the adwords system is a great way to get started with Pay Per Click Marketing.
Oh and I’m in Manila right now.. I’m located near the “Circle”? Near University of The Philippines I believe..
I’m not too sure.. my Uncle just drives me around and I still don’t know my way around…
Thanks Jasper,
I’m about 2 months at WA and have made 6 sales thus far with article marketing…but I want to learn the Adwords strategy instead because I hate writing articles and with Google changing their algorithms all the time I just don’t like the idea of one’s income being controled like that.
With adwords it would seem you have a lot more control.
Also it seems to be where the BIG dollars are at and that’s where I want to go.
Anyway how long are you over there before you head back state side?
I was in Olangapo back in 85 through 88 off and on in the Navy and it was great, but I didn’t like San Miguel beer.
Have a good one…hope to chat with you later.
Take care
Gerry
Oh by the way I was curious as to why you’re aa subscriber to Campaign Blasts Source? Will I learn enough out of WA?
Did you read all of their resources in the 8 week course, including Beating Adwords?
Just curious as to why?
I’ve been a member of WA since March 2007… I’ve read the stuff over and over..
WA has a good landing page for PPC… I’ve also read BA.. it’s a good book
Campaign Blasts Source is a different system…
Plus I like the forum better at CBS… it’s more of a community since it’s not as big as WA.. there are too many people and newbies at WA that it’s kind of hard to get involved with the community there.
I don’t think WA is the end-all solution, but it’s a great place to get started since their resources are tailored to newbies.
yeah I’m a newbie so I’ll continue with WA until I think I need to expand into more advanced educational resources…
I don’t hang out on the forum. I like the “DOING” part instead of hanging out, which I think a lot of people do there instead of getting through the material, learning and putting it into “Motion”.
Right now I’m studying how to put up a good landing page, wordpress blogging and adwords.
I’m done with Squidoo and article marketing and want to move on to adwords and blogging.
Well I’m rambling on…have a good one
Hey again Jasper,
I signed up at CBS a day ago and forgot to do it under your affiliate link but I got Matt to give you the credit for my sign up.
I just have 1 question and I’ll be on my way.
Who are you using to put up landing pages?
Are you using the resources at CBS with their EZ Websites or at WA with site rubix?
Would Wordpress be the way to go?
I’m going through the 161 pages of the Blast Guide
and wanted to sign up with Shareasale but they require a website.
I want to get going ASAP on this and would appreciate your input.
Gerry
Hey Gerry! Thanks for the referral!
Hmmm… I’ve been using templates at http://oswd.org to create my sites. They’re free and I have some experience with html and css so i just modify the templates to how I want them.
I do have a number of wordpress blogs that I use as well. I like wordpress over blogger but I hear that Joomla and Drupal have more features. I guess if you’re starting out, learn wordpress. It’s not too overly complicated once you start playing with it.
To get signed up with CJ and ShareASale, you probably create a free blog at blogger.com (make sure you put in some content) and they should accept you. I remember I saw a site that had very minimal content (like 3 posts?) on his blogger and he was able to get accepted into CJ. I’d say play it safe and put in some articles and links out to some sites.
Oh, and try to avoid blasting Clickbank, you pretty much need a landing page to get started there. Direct linking is real difficult with Clickbank products (maybe 1 in 25 will show some sort of result)
Good luck!
I’m already an affiliate with CB so all I really need is a landing page to blast their products.
I understand what you’re saying about direct linking with CB products.
If I’m misunderstanding your last paragraph please let me know. I was going to do Clickbank, Commission Junction and Shareasale to get started.
Thanks again
Gerry
Those are a good 3 to get started with. I just wouldn’t spend too much time direct-linking to CB products, but if you’re building landing pages for each one then that would be better. Campaign Blasting is a direct linking strategy and helps you to find “winners” before you dive deep into a niche. I just don’t recommend it for CB.
Thanks Jasper…I’ve got my work cut out for me.
I’m 1/2 way through the blast guide and this July 4th weekend I want to go over all the videos and make sure I understand everything befor I do my first blast.
I know everything will get done if I set goals for myself.
Hopefully we can chat on the forum sometime.
Thanks again
Gerry
Hey Jasper,
Are CBS servers down? Can’t get on or let alone email Matt on what’s going on.
Maybe you know something…
It’s 7:45 pm pacific time
Gerry
Like to say congradulations of your success. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. I have a strange question. If a program you are promoting through ppc is generating a 14% CTR. But no products are being sold according to the merchant. Should I get rid of the program.
I’m not quite sure what you mean. Do get any commissions from that merchant at all?
Also, I’m assuming you mean CTR from your text ads. You could get a high clickthrough if your ads say something like “click here for free stuff” kind of thing. But visitors like that won’t convert very well because thy want freebies.
Maybe if you could provide more info on your campaign and I could help you out.
Here is all the details. Thank you for taking the time to help. I know you are covered up with your own thing.
The first ad: Find Specialty Pet Supply Stores
Hard To Find Specialty Pet Supplies.
http://www.ZoeyZoo.com
The second ad: Hard To Find Pet Supplies
Compare Specailty Pet Supply Stores.
http://www.ZoeyZoo.com
I’m using relevant keywords. My ctr at yahoo is around .60%
The Ads Are Going To A Specific Landing Pages At on http://www.zoeyzoo.com relative to the ad. The Company I am promoting is PETCO. 14% of the people viewing the landing page are clicking through to PETCO. Over 100 Click Throughs but no sales.
It’s crazy but Amazon has had about 25% of the people viewing the page click through. 8 items were ordered out of 80 click throughs. A profit of $40 because I’m only getting 6% commission. I would get 9% and up with PETCO.
I am beginning to wonder if it is Just CJ related. Over 30 People have clicked through from my articles for a free sign up with YouPet. They only pay $1 but it is free to join the social pet network. My advertising of these sites is not real high pressure( none of the click here before the earth comes to an end kind of stuff.)
Thanks For Your Time. And Good Luck With Your New
Campaign.
Frustrated But Not Defeated,
Eric Binkley
Jasper,
I saw on your Twitter page that you are doing some media buying.
Is this the same media buying that the guys over at Traffic University do? Same methods?
Jerry.
@Jerry Yeah same stuff
