It’s Been A Month.. What’s Going On?
Posted by JasperP on July 21st, 2008
It’s been almost a month since I posted on here and it’s been a rough ride. Google put the slap down on alot of campaigns. Hit me pretty hard on one of my campaigns so it’s been tough trying to get everything back in order.
Anyway, I got my Legalzoom.com stuff from my previous order and it’s very exciting to have my first offiicial LLC business! There are alot of forms to fill out and stuff to take care of on the administrative side, but all in all, it’s nice to have some sense of organization in my marketing business.
One thing that I accomplished today was getting my business account from WaMu. For those of you that don’t know, WaMu offers Free Business Checking! I would have preferred to have Bank Of America but they charge monthly fees over there so I think I’ll try the free biz checking at WaMu first before I jump over there.
The name of my company is NextFlow Media, LLC and I took a few pictures to show it off:
I still have some more forms I have to mail out and I still have to figure out the accounting side and how I’m going to transfer my business income and expenses from my personal account to my business account. Hopefully it won’t be too big of a mess!

Wow, Legalzoom put everything together all nice & pretty/professional looking! (BTW, nice biz name.) My LLC docs are in a plain white binder.
I’m with you on the free biz checking. I went with 5th 3rd who also has free small biz checking.
Also, if you are looking into software to track your biz financial stuff, Quickbooks Simple start is a good option. Mine came loaded on my Dell, but I think you can find a free download @ Intuit’s site. Amazon sells if for under $50.
Continued, success!

Yeah I got the GOLD package. It’s pretty sweet since I don’t have to do all the work for putting together the LLC.
I’ve been looking into some accounting solutions too. I was also looking at quickbooks online.(I like the idea of being able to access my accounts without being at a local computer)
What do you do as far as bookkeeping and stuff? Is it a Do-It-Yourself operation?
Is this the software you were talking about:

Microsoft Accounting was kind of slow when I tried it. I’ll give this one a shot if it’s simple enough.
Thanks for the advice!

Yes, that’s it. Basically, it tracks all of your expenses, commissions & money earned etc,., and produces your monthly Profit & Loss statements. You manage your bank accounts & credit card purchases with it at well.
It isn’t the most feature rich Quick Books product, but more than enough to track an affiliate biz.
It’s very easy to learn, plus you can try it free.
