My Experience on “The Price is Right”

I posted this on twitter, but for those that don’t follow me, I just thought I’d share my experience on “The Price is Right”.  This video aired about 3 years ago, right before Bob Barker retired. Me and some other friends waited about 8-10 hours from around 6am when they opened to around 4pm when they started filming.

The way it worked was that every single person  in the audience gets a 5-20 second interview to get on the show.  In order to get on the show, I used my marketing skills to get on the show.  Basically, I had to differentiate myself from the other members of the audience.

Here’s the secret: I told them that I worked as one of those robots sprayed in silver paint that worked at the beach.  They asked how much I made and I said, “It’s kind of embarassing, but on a good day I make about $40″.

I think they got a kick out of it and maybe felt sorry that I didn’t make that much money and put me on the show!

LP CTR Mod for Prosper 1.3.2

It has to come to my attention that the LP CTR mod doesn’t work with the new prosper202 1.3.2.  I’m still trying to understand what changed in the code.

Hopefully, I can get it fixed before ASE.

***EDIT (8/5/09): Found out what the problem was.  It was pointing to the wrong location of the script.  

I corrected the relative path in keywords_lpctr.php, referers_lpctr.php, and text_ads_lpctr.php.  (Added ‘/tracking202/ajax/’ to loadContent() function)

***EDIT (8/6/09): “Referrers LP CTR” might not be working for some people.  I made another change in referers_lpctr.php.

***EDIT (8/7/09): Found an error in the “OVERVIEW” tab.  The day-parting, week-parting was not visible because it was using the older Prosper 1.2 version.  Fixed it again.

Sorry for all the updates.  I guess I was in a rush to fix the problem without thoroughly testing it.  I would suggest anyone to wait a week or two to see if any more bugs show up.  Thanks.

***EDIT (8/17/09): Thanks to Daniel Brady, another error was  found in the script.  I’ve corrected and tested it for a couple days and so far so good.  I’ve updated the new download.

***EDIT (8/18/09): Thanks to Tony Tsai, he found another error when clicking on the columns to sort the clicks, clickthroughs, etc.  It’s pretty much the same error as before, which required me to make sure the entire path to the php files are referenced.  Basically, the path “/tracking202/ajax/” needs to be inserted in every instance that I refer to the sort_.php files.

The NerdyAffiliate CPA Offer Search Engine

After messing around with the Offer202 engine, I’ve finally got it working.  I had to mess with the CSS and HTML to get it looking the way I wanted.

Anyway, with this search engine, you can check out the different CPA offers from various networks and see what type of offers are out there.

James Seligman Interviewed by Clickbooth

James Seligman is an affiliate marketer doing big things in the industry.  He’s been in the industry for 3 years, so he definitely has some experience in affiliate marketing.

I think I first met him at Affiliate Summit West (I forgot.. lol).  But we definitely partied it up in Ad:Tech San Francisco 2009.  He’s a real chill dude, if you ask me.
